The Trump-Shaffer Inflation Act has passed the United States Senate on Reconciliation.

I know the Democrats are calling their plan the inflation reduction act.

Bernie Sanders on the floor of the United States Senate very openly, candidly, honestly

acknowledged that it really will have nothing to do with inflation.

The effects on inflation will be de minimis?

I'm actually kind of surprised.

Sanders doesn't like the bill, but he likes the climate spending in it.

I want to take a moment to say a few words about the so-called inflation reduction act that we are

debating this evening and I say so-called by the way because according to the

CBO and other economic organizations who have studied this bill it will in fact

have a minimal impact on inflation.

That's probably why so much of the media is calling it a climate change bill now.

I'm calling it the Trump Schaefer inflation and spending bill.

Why?

Well, because elections have consequences.
