So I am excited about today's topic for a kind of a selfish reason.

But that skill is tanning, and it's something that I hadn't really ever thought about.

We do all these other old-fashioned homestead skills, but tanning hides was something that

just never occurred to me until my husband and I were talking about how to really make

the most of the cattle that we raise and we sell, and we have processed.

And so we were scheming things to do with the fat and the bones and the organs, and we're

like, why have we never thought about using the hides?

And so it kind of started me down this rabbit trail of research, and in that I discovered

there's a lot of information out there, and it started to feel really overwhelming.
