Richard Jewel had finally been cleared as a suspect in the Atlanta Centennial Park bombing after 88 days of hell.

OJ Simpson spent the day in a courtroom.

Over a year at pass, since he was acquitted for the murders of Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman,

and now OJ found himself on trial again.

This time, for the civil suit brought on by the Goldman fan.

On top of the OJ civil trial and Jewel finally being cleared, America was exactly one week away from a presidential election.

Bill Clinton was riding high after what most people agreed was a successful first four years in office.

And he was heavily favored to win re-election against Republican challenger Bob Dole.
