Hey friends, welcome back to the old fashion on purpose podcast.

And today's topic is about play.

So this is a topic that I kind of unintentionally became interested in as my own children started

to grow.

And I would post pictures of some of their homestead escapades online.

And to me, a lot of the things they were doing felt pretty run of the mill in normal, floating

boats and ponds and jumping off the hay bales and balancing on fences and things like that.

But I noticed something funny every time I post them on social media.

And that was it.

Those simple play photos got a lot of attention.

And people kept saying things like, man, I don't see kids play anymore.

Or I remember doing that when I was little, but my grandkids don't do that.

Or I wish that more children still did those things.

And it caught me off guard because I kind of thought the kids were still doing those things.

But as I become more aware, I realize it's not as normal as it used to be.

So I've been trying to kind of dig into this idea of where did play go.

What's happening to play?

How is it changing?
