0:16.8	points to Jesus. Hey everyone. Welcome back to Here in the Bible with Daily Grace. My name is
0:27.8	Alexa and today we are going to go through the Book of Philippines together.
0:31.5	So let's dive in. In Philippians one, Paul
0:34.7	praise a prayer of Thanksgiving to God for the Philippians. He thanks God for
0:39.4	their partnership and the faith and praise that the Philippians would grow in their love, pursue what is holy, and bear
0:45.7	fruit for God's glory.
0:48.0	Paul also encourages the Philippians that even though he is in prison, his imprisonment has not prevented the gospel from being spread.
0:55.8	Actually, his imprisonment has advanced the message of the gospel because it's being
1:00.4	spread all throughout the guards to hold Paul prisoner.
1:03.4	All Paul cares about is that the gospel is heard
1:06.9	and he wants his life to be a testimony to the gospel
1:09.8	even if he faces death.
1:11.4	Paul declares to live is Christ and to die is gain,
1:16.2	proclaiming that whether in life or in death
1:19.2	Christ will be proclaimed through him.
1:21.8	In chapter 2, Paul encourages the Philippians to forsake
1:24.8	selfish ambition and to be united in love and humility. Paul encourages the
1:30.4	Philippians to have the same humble mindset of Jesus who chose to leave his
1:34.9	throne, be born as a human, and experience a humility of death on the cross, all because
1:40.9	of his mercy and grace.
