Welcome to a year in the Bible with daily grace. The Bible tells one big story of redemption,

0:09.1

and we want to spend five minutes every day journeying through the Bible from start to

0:14.3

finish and exploring how all of it points to Jesus.

0:19.6

Hey everybody, welcome back to the year in the Bible with daily grace podcast. My name

0:26.4

is Kristen and today we're going to be talking about numbers seven through nine. So as we

0:31.2

start off with today's reading in number seven, we see that Moses was done setting up the

0:35.4

Tabernacle. He was finished and now the 12 tribes of Israel were starting to give their

0:39.6

offerings to the altar. This whole process of gift giving lasted 12 days. And as you probably

0:46.5

notice, the Bible is pretty specific. It's pretty detailed here. It records the number

0:51.1

of silver plates given and weighing them down to the quarter pounds. It collects the number

0:55.8

of bowls and lambs and goats and rams. And of all the sacrifices that were given in dedication

1:02.3

to the altar, we notice that there were a lot of blood sacrifices to be made on behalf

1:08.2

of the people. And then in chapter eight, we're going to see that Aaron is going to set up

1:13.4

the lamp stands and leave fights are going to be cleansed and set apart. They're given

1:18.0

specific instructions and you guessed it, more offerings. And then in chapter nine, the

1:23.0

people celebrate the Passover. So think back to the book of Exodus and the significance

1:29.2

of the Passover. It's a huge day. It's a special day to commemorate when God saved the people

1:35.8

from slavery. The people were in bondage. They were under harsh rule and God made away for

1:40.3

them to be free. He sent plagues to the Egyptians. He displayed mighty, mighty power. But

1:48.0

when the Egyptians still wouldn't let the Israelites go, God gave this final plague. And

1:53.6

he told the people, his people to kill a lamb, to put the blood of the lamb over the doorposts

1:59.0

and whoever was under the blood of the lamb would be saved. I love it. Beautiful imagery,
