| 0:00.0 | Welcome to a year in the Bible with Daily Grace. The Bible tells one big story of redemption, |
| 0:09.1 | and we want to spend five minutes every day journeying through the Bible from start to |
| 0:14.3 | finish and exploring how all of it points to Jesus. |
| 0:19.5 | Hey guys, welcome back to the year in the Bible with Daily Grace Podcast. I'm Kristen |
| 0:26.8 | and we are continuing to work through the book of numbers today with numbers 28 through 30. |
| 0:32.0 | So in today's chapters, the Lord spoke to Moses and told him about the festivals and the sacrifices |
| 0:37.4 | that the people were to do. Now, notice there might be a lot of specific commands here down to the |
| 0:43.6 | tenths of the fine flower for the grain offering and the numbers of rams offered per day. |

| 1:14.4 | provided for them. God is the one who provides abundantly for his people and these chapters point |
| 1:21.9 | to a sign of his provision. Then in chapter 30, Moses gave the people instructions about vows. |
| 1:28.8 | God always keeps his promises and he wants his people to keep their vows to him. |
| 1:34.4 | So he gave the people specific instructions about vows and how vows could be nullified. |
| 1:40.3 | And I know you might read these chapters and feel uneasy or offended. |
| 1:46.2 | The Bible is basically saying that if a married woman or a woman living with her dad made a vow |
| 1:53.7 | and her husband or her father let her keep it then she could, but if they opposed it, |
| 1:59.8 | then she wasn't responsible for her vow. And I don't know about you, but I think that can |
| 2:04.8 | easily rub against our modern ears. We might say that's not fair. A woman should be able to make |
| 2:10.6 | whatever vows she wants before the Lord, but before we are offended too much about the role |
