Our narrative from yesterday continues as King Senacirib and his Assyrian army are gathering to

destroy the nation of Judah.

And while we will talk about God's vengeance on those who mock him.

Today we will also take a close look

at both Hezakiah's right response

and his wrong response.

But first, let's dive into Chapter 37, which picks up with Hezekiah's

royal advisors returning to tell him about the message from Senakirib spokesman.

This spokesman had mocked God

and even attempted to make the people doubt God's help

in this time of need.

But Hezakiah had a right response. He immediately tore his clothes,

covered himself in sackcloth, and went to seek the Lord in the temple.

The right response is to always seek the Lord first.

Hezekiah also sent for Isaiah

and asked him to beseech the Lord on the nation's behalf. The word of the Lord came through
