Hi Daily Grace Family, welcome back to a year in the Bible with Daily Grace.

My name is Tiffany and I am part of the content team at the Daily Grace Co. I'm so excited to be your host as we walk through the book of Isaiah together.

Isaiah is such a rich book and before we dive into the first three chapters today let's take a quick

moment to talk about who Isaiah was, the purpose of the book and how this book is

structured over its 66 chapters. We are given a great gift in the book of

Isaiah as we are told exactly what kings isia served under. This helps us date the

book of isia fairly easily and shows us the vast time period he prophesied,

specifically to the Southern Kingdom of Judah,

but also to the Northern Kingdom of Israel and surrounding nations.

In 722 BC, when Israel fell to the Assyrians,

Isaiah saw the prophecy God shared through him fulfilled. Though he wouldn't live to experience the

prophecy against Judah over 130 years later, the word of the Lord proved ever true and faithful to Isaiah in his life and in hours.

We see that clearly as Isaiah contains the most prophecy concerning the life of Jesus more than any other book in the Old Testament.

Written over 700 years before Christ came to Earth,

Isaiah shares both large and even the minutest of details concerning the birth, life, death, burial, and

resurrection of Jesus.

All of this points to the purpose of this book, which is the glory of God.

Across the pages of Isaiah, God's glory is at the heart.

He is the center of the universe and deserves all praise for his creation.
