0:09.1

and we want to spend five minutes every day journeying through the Bible from start to finish

and exploring how all of it points to Jesus.

Hey, hey, welcome back to a year in the Bible with Daily Grace. Today we are talking about

0:27.4

Genesis 13 through 15. I'm your host for the Book of Genesis, Joanna Kimbrill. After God

0:33.7

rescues Sarah from the results of Abram's self-reliance and deception, Abram and Sarah

0:39.4

leave Egypt and go back to the land where God originally brought Abram. Now, Abram's

0:44.7

brother Lot was with them too, and between them and all of their possessions, there wasn't

1:27.2

would give him so many offspring that counting them would be like trying to count specs

1:32.1

of dust on the earth. Now, chapter 14 shows the results of Lot's unwise choice. Lot

1:38.8

finds himself in the midst of a huge battle, and he gets carried off along with all of

1:44.4

his possessions by this very powerful enemy. The worldly security he sought was gone in

1:51.0

an instant, but Abram heard that Lot was captured, and in great grace he brought his men

1:58.2

to rescue Lot. Abram points us forward to the true warrior king, Jesus Christ, who comes

2:04.7

to rescue us from the results of our own sin. After Abram's victory, two kings came to
