points to Jesus. Hi everyone welcome back to a year in the Bible with daily grace. My name is

Ali and I'm one of the hosts of the podcast. Today we'll be looking at Galatians 4 through 6. So yesterday we read the opening

chapters of Galatians. And in those chapters Paul addressed the Church of Galatia over their misunderstanding of the

gospel, that the gospel is a gospel of grace and not one of works. We cannot earn our salvation, but it is given to us freely through Christ who gave up

his life for us so that we could live. And so the teaching they have been listening to that they must be circumcised to receive Christ is false.

He calls out those who have falsely taught otherwise as he seeks through his letter to bring understanding to the Galatian church.

No one fulfilled the law perfectly until Jesus Christ came to earth.

And because of Him, we now live as God's sons and daughters when we trust Him as our Savior.

It was the promise God had made to Abraham so long ago that from his offspring would come a promised blessing and its fulfillment was in Christ.

Galatians 4 opens and Paul explains that we are all

borne centers born into slavery under the law. But when we accept Christ,

believe in him as the risen Son of God who came to save us from our sins,

we are no longer slaves but are free.

He came to redeem us, and as Christians we rejoice in such grace and freedom we have in Christ.

We become heirs to his throne.

He tells the Galatians that once they were enslaved to things of this world that came to know God, and he asks how then can they turn back to those powerless things that are fleeting. They follow a false gospel because of

mistruth they have received. Paul does not want them to fall back into the trap of

legalism and trying to be good enough and do good enough that they can

enter the kingdom of heaven for Jesus has already made a way. He writes that such legalism and self-righteousness provide an appearance of being

mature in the faith, but it isn't true maturity because it ignores or neglects the condition of the heart.
