today we're diving in to Exodus 28 through 30. We are back with Moses on top of Mount Sinai with God.

Remember, he's spending 40 days and 40 nights with him. God is telling Moses how he will dwell

with the Israelites from now on, detailing the tabernacle that will hold his presence.

In today's chapters, God tells Moses exactly how the priest of Israel will dress,

how they'll purify themselves and sacrifice before coming into Yahweh's presence.

He begins with the wardrobe that the high priest will wear to meet with God.

Aaron and his sons were priest of Israel. Priesthood could only be passed down by blood,

not by achievement or honor. You couldn't earn it. The high priest would be adorned with an

effod made of fine linen and embroidered with purple and blue and scarlet yarn.

What is an effod? Think of a modern day apron. This effod would have shoulder pieces made of gold.

Hanging from the shoulder pieces would be a breast piece that would hang over the priest's heart.
