Summary

The Bible tells one big story of redemption. Today, we are journeying through Exodus 25-27 and exploring how it points to Jesus, where it fits into the story of Scripture, and how the truth of God’s Word impacts our lives. Notes: The lampstand had six branches, not seven. (Exodus 25-27: 02:31) The veil of the temple, not the tabernacle, was torn when Jesus died on the cross. (Exodus 25-27: 03:52) Follow along with us in the Story of Redemption Study Vol. 1, today on page 58. and we want to spend five minutes every day journeying through the Bible from start to

Hey, hey, welcome back to a year in the Bible with Daily Grace. My name is Katie, and today

0:27.6

we're exploring Exodus 25 through 27. We meet Moses on top of Mount Sinai. He's spending

0:34.2

40 days and 40 nights with God. God gives him specific instructions on how he wants the

0:39.8

tabernacle to be built. This is God's dwelling place among the people of Israel. God asks

0:46.9

the Israelites to give other finest possessions in order to make the tabernacle. They are to

0:52.3

give offerings of gold and silver and bronze, their best linens, gemstones, olive oil, and

0:59.2

so much more. But what's interesting here is that God does not command the Israelites to

1:04.9

give. Instead, he asks them to give of what they're willing. This reminds us that God cares

1:12.4

about our generosity as an overflow of our hearts devotion to Him. First, God instructed

1:18.3

the building of the ark of the covenant. This ark is where the presence of God meets

1:23.4

with His people. It is located in the innermost place of the tabernacle. This is the same

1:30.0

ark where Moses will place the Ten Commandments. This same ark will also be carried in the

1:36.3

battle with them. It's the same ark that will eventually be placed in Solomon's temple,

1:41.9

bringing God's spirit. It is a box made of acacia wood and is overlaid with gold. It is

1:47.8

mobile, but it cannot be touched directly by men. Poles are placed in the holes of the

1:54.2

side so that it can be carried without being touched. The mercy seat is the lid that

2:00.0

tops the ark and has two chair-bombs on either side. Next, he gave instructions for creating

2:05.9

the table for the bread of the presence. This is where priests would eat bread in the presence

2:10.9

of God, a reminder of the fellowship Israel has with their Savior. God then details
