The guy was a brilliant professor,

and the course was called from Stetl to suburbia.

And it was an introduction to Yiddish literature,

and then it also was an introduction to contemporary Jewish

American literature as you went from the Stedall to the American suburb. And there's a

great story that was written in Eastern Europe.

I think it was either Sholamash wrote the story or perhaps Tevier, the Tevier stories

it was Sheolmolecium, wrote a story called The Lottery Ticket.

You could look it up.

And what was the story about? Well, there was great honor for a Jewish boy to become a doctor. Okay, so for every Jewish son, they're the Messiah to the mom and they're training the kid to be a good kid and they're training him to be a doctor.

And so the kid really wants his parents to feel this naucous, to feel this honor for the family.

And so he makes a decision to accept the admittance to the medical school,

but the provision to accept the admittance of the medical school is that he must become a Gentile. He must accept. The his culture and he's just about the tenants that his parents stood for and the
