Summary

Nothing screams diet-binge cycle quite like slimming clubs! We've both been to diet clubs close to 10 times each, so we know what it's like. They might work for a handful of people, but for the rest of us, they're TOXIC and destroy our relationships with food. They place moral value on foods, shame us if we put on weight, and charge us a fortune in the meantime. We don't know what the answer is, but we know our experiences with slimming clubs have impacted our relationships with our bodies for the worse - and we know we're not the only ones. TW: This episode contains references to eating disorders. If you’re struggling with an eating disorder and are in the UK, the Beat Eating Disorders charity has a hotline. The number is 0808 801 0677 or you can visit the website at beateatingdisorders.org.uk.
