All eyes on Venezuela given the scale of the fleet gathering off the shores and the challenge to Maduro, the illegitimate president.

However, an upcoming election in Honduras, this is the Central American

state that's part of the Northern Triangle, an upcoming election in Honduras brings in the sinister

nature of the regime in Caracas, in addition to what you'd have to say is a very sad story of people who are feeling left out of all progress

and part of the problem, not part of the solution. Mary Anastasia Grady writes of these things

in our most recent column. She's a member of the editorial page of the Wall Street Journal,

a member of the board, and has the America's

assignment. Mary, a very good evening to you. The vote in Teguisi Galpa on the 30th puts a

candidate associated with Venezuela in some fashion on the docket. And there is news out of Venezuela, out of Honduras,

if I understand that there's a widespread condition, a condition that it suggests there's going to be

a stolen election as we saw in Venezuela. Is that accurate, Mike? Good evening to you. Well, good

evening, John. That's certainly the fear

among Hondurance. You have, as you mentioned, at the presidential election, they're also

electing mayors and seats in the legislature, which is a unicameral legislature. There's

1208 seats. The current president

is from the left, and she's very close to Venezuela, to Maduro, to the Cubans. You might

wonder how she got elected in a country that's relatively conservative.

And I think the answer to that is corruption.

The former president was alleged to be linked to the narco traffickers.

And after he stepped down in 2022, the U.S. asked to have him extradited.
