Throughout this series, we are going to discuss how evolutions in forensic science have helped solve cool cases. So for our first podcast, we thought we would

discuss one of the major milestone cases in forensic science. It all started in the village in Arborah, which is in Leicestershire, England.

The village was founded by the Saxons, possibly as early as the 6th century.

In the fall of 1983, the village, along with its two neighboring villages, had a population

of around 8,000 people.

A 15-year-old Linda Mann lived in the village with her mother, stepfather, an older sister, and a younger half-sister.

Linda was a happy-go-lucky teen by a love of languages.

One day, she hoped to travel around the world.

On the night of November 21, 1983, Linda went to a home in Narborough to babysit.
