The story's a little different because our victim actually ended up being arrested and spent 11 months in jail trying to prove her innocence.

I know she lost her business, her health, and almost her life over just one text.

And now our listeners can hear firsthand how she fought for justice.

Her story was so powerful I couldn't stop talking to her.

And I'm Jake Deptula. On today's episode of Strictly Stocking, we're chatting with Don Dillowese, a stalking survivor who ended up in jail after her stalker reported her to the police.

Don became the target of a stalker who sent her hundreds of threatening texts and posted online sex ads with her address inviting people to show up to her home and rape her.

Don suspected a rival beautician who recently set up his salon next door.

She jokingly sends a text to her friend about finding someone to take him out and is arrested and charged with solicitation to commit murder.

Don spends the next 11 months behind bars awaiting trial as it becomes clear who her stalker really is.

And now she's here to share her story with us.

Hi, thanks for coming.

You're very welcome. Thank you for having me.

What do you start out and tell us just a little bit about yourself?

Okay. I was primarily raised on the East Coast, mainly Northwest Florida.

In 1980, I decided I just wanted to move and come to Southern California, the land of milk and honey.

And I had been winning a lot of swimsuit beauty pageants along the coast of Florida.

So I saved my money up in order to make that transition out here.

I had a high school suite, hard who I'd recently married, we came out together.

And pretty much, you know, just kind of got caught up in the whole lifestyle here. Eventually we divorced.

I soon remarried and now have two grown daughters.
