the book of Second Thessalonians. A short time after Paul's previous letter to the

Thessalonians, false teachers arose saying that Jesus had already come. This was a

great discouragement to be told that the one thing they had hoped for had

already passed and that they were laboring in vain.

Some succumbed to the lies and gave up. They became undisciplined, lazy, and involved in everyone's affairs.

Because Paul cared so deeply for these people he wanted to reach

out again and address the troublesome issues they were dealing with in his letter.

First, Paul addressed the persecution from outside of the church, as he has done in the

everything into context because they gave their allegiance to King Jesus, the
