daily grace. My name is Jenny and today we are talking about 2 Corinthians 10 through 13 which are the last three

chapters of 2 Corinthians. Yesterday we discussed joy and repentance and giving. Today we are going to talk about how Paul sought to bring his human

inclinations under the authority of Christ and what it looks like to imitate Christ in this light. These are two things that are

essential for every Christian today. So let's dive into today's text.

These last few chapters of Second Corinthians opens with Paul continuing his defense of himself.

Some Corinthians have accused him of not giving for Christ and instead living in his flesh. To some extent Paul owns that he does

this as he is an imperfect human living in the world. However, in the last few chapters of

2 Corinthians, Paul defends himself against those in the Corinthian Church

who still refused to listen to him and accused him of living in the

flesh instead of living in Christ. But Paul says that though he lives in the

flesh because he is still human who lives in a sinful world. He is

a waging war against his own flesh to bring everything under the authority of Christ.

The Corinthians had trouble judging things by their outward appearance,

but Paul urged them to remember that he belonged to Christ just as they did.

And while Paul may not be as impressive in speech or appearance as some of the other

apostles who came after him. He was the one who first brought the

gospel to the people. The Lord had given him authority over them. Paul seems to have some fun in poking holes in the Corinthians

comparison of him to the false teachers who came after him. While many of the Corinthians

were impressed by those teachers, Paul knew that they were false teachers and that their credentials could never parallel his.
