Summary

Happy Thursday gang. Hope you’re all doing well? It’s that time of the week to stop what you’re doing, pop your feet up & take some time to dive into someone else’s life for an hour or so. Every now and then we think it’s important to highlight past episodes that you may have missed that we feel are important listening. Even ir you’ve heard this before, it’s worth another listen. Now, no doubt, you’ve either binged through Sex Education season 3 on Netflix or you’re taking your time. We’re sure you’ll be knocked out by the performances and will have fallen all in love with the characters again. One stand out will be Adam Groff played by this week's reissue guest CONNOR SWINDELLS. Apart from Sex Ed, you’ll have seen Connor as part of the incredible ensemble cast of BBC’s VIGIL that has just completed its run. This was a fantastic episode and so great to meet Connor. It’s an episode that goes deep and you’ll get to know Connor after spending some time with him. You never know, you may relate to some of the topics that come up during the conversation. Enough now. Let’s get on with it shall we? This is The Two Shot Podcast, with the wonderfully open, Connor Swindells. Orig blurb - Hello. How are you? We do hope you're alright. We've got another episode of the Two Shot Podcast for you this week. It's our 83rd and it's a chat with an actor called Connor Swindells. Connor showed up to meet us in Soho looking unflappably cool and wearing one of the loveliest pairs of boats we've ever seen. He then proceeded to pour his heart out onto the table and share with us his incredible story of love, loss, passion and paranoia. You'll hear him talk about boxing, on-set breakdowns, not fitting in with your big brothers and being poor. He really doesn't hold too much back. You might know Connor from the hit Netflix show Sex Education where he plays the character Adam Groff. You might've seen him in the films VS. or The Vanishing. He's a great actor who really inhabits his work and the future looks so, so bright for him. Craig gives a little warning in the intro of this week's podcast as some of the subjects we touch on are pretty heavy. If you're feeling a bit fragile, it might be worth leaving listening until you feel a bit better. Or, conversely, it might be exactly what you need to hear. Either way, we can't thank Connor enough for sharing an hour with us and with you. A bit of bad news here about the live show at the BFI - We’re so sorry to say that due to a personal issue, we’ve had to pull out of the Radio Times festival on April 14th. We're so sorry to let you down but this is unavoidable. Many thanks to Radio Times, the BFI & Richard E. Grant for their warmth & support. BFI will be in touch about refunds. We’ll talk to Richard later in the year. Promise. Thanks a lot for listening. If you want a TSP badge then have a listen here and see how you can get one. Another thing. This episode, all right, I want to preface this episode with a warning, really.

1:19.0

This is probably the most candid conversation we've had on the podcast. And my God, we've had a fair few, haven't we?

1:28.0

It's the actor, Connor Swindles. Now, if you might not know the name, if you've seen sex education on Netflix, you'll soon know who I'm talking about.

1:38.0

If you're in a dark place or you're feeling brittle, just be careful with this episode because we talk about anxiety, we talk about death, we talk about grief, we talk about loneliness, we talk about anxiety, we talk about grief, we talk about loneliness.

1:57.0

We talk about alcoholism. And you'll hear in the conversation, there's sometimes where there isn't any words, we just had to, it felt very natural to just pause and just let what was said sort of breathe.

2:17.0

So yeah, look, it's incredible. And I'm really pleased that Connor came on and felt that it could be so candid. So yeah, tell you up, just if you're not in a great place, maybe just wait a bit or maybe it might be of comfort to you.

2:35.0

If you've had a medical for a job, whether you check your balls?

3:06.0

I've had a medical, but only like not an actual physical touch medical, just one when you have to take the things like no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Do you know what I mean?

3:15.0

Yeah, and maybe they like touch your body. I've never had a check in balls.

3:19.0

I want less medical, I went to, I said, I always like having these medicals, because I very rarely need to go to the doctors, because I'm, you know, a touch would very rarely ill.

3:29.0

Anyway, well, these can't really show anything. It's just like for insurance purposes, you know, you could be really ill.
