I hope you're all keeping well. Thanks for all the messages for the incredible episode from last week with the wonderful jazz tererah.

Just the most loveliest fella. I'm so pleased he came on. What I wanted to do, it's not a companion pace, but it kind of is because there's a connection with this week's guest.

It's the fantastic playwright, Roy Williams. I don't know what I was pausing though. I know he's name I've recorded it.

He is incredible. I've been a big fan of Roy's work for years, and it's a slightly different episode this week than normal.

Of course it's individual because of the different guests, but the way that it's structured, we don't tend to talk about Roy's

trajectory too much. We don't talk about growing up in Notting Hill because, and I'm pointing to another podcast.

They had the Royal Court podcast with Simon Stevens. He's had incredible writers on there. Do go and check it out.

But the episode with Roy is really interesting because Simon does go right back to growing up in a single parent family with I think three or four brothers and sisters.

Who are older, how he wasn't doing great at school, and he got inspired by somebody else to start writing.

So what I want you to do is go and check out that podcast, and you'll hear about Roy's upbringing, and it's really interesting.

But I didn't want to cover that again because it's someone's already done it. Instead I was focusing more on the structure of his writing, a typical writing day.

We focus a lot on a great, great play that, as you'll hear in the episode, to start with me, still.

Now I was really thinking about it, called Sukapunch with Daniel Kler at the Royal Court.

If you didn't see Sukapunch, you're going to what we're talking about. Do go and read a review of Sukapunch and look at some images.

I think it'll really help with this episode, with what myself and Roy get into with the whole design of the play.
