Quick bookkeeping note. We've been getting reports that some of our ads have been about sensitive topics that some of you quite dislike.

We're trying to see if we can get any granular control over that, but the way podcasting advertising works is very limited in that regard.

Unless you hear us doing a live ad read, these ads are inserted by an algorithm and don't

necessarily reflect a personal product endorsement by your hosts.

We'll try to improve the quality of the ads, but we're quite limited in what we can do.

Psychedelics reflect on this because psychedelics stretch and pull and melt and recast the illusion

producing machinery of language. I mean, I think that if you had to say the one thing that psychedelics do for everyone,

whether they have a good trip or a bad trip, because it's up to them to interpret what they make of this,

is it shows you the relativity of your cultural viewpoint. It's just your point of view.

We are living in a computer-programmed reality, and the only clue we have to it is when

some variable is changed and some alteration in our reality occurs.

We would have the overwhelming impression that we were reliving the present, deja vu.

We believe what we see, and then we believe our interpretation of it.

We don't even know we're making an interpretation most of the time.

We think this is reality.

And philosophy, that's called naive realism.

What I perceive is reality.

And philosophers have refuted naive realism every century for the last 2,500 years,

starting with Buddha and Plato, and yet most people still act on the basis of naive realism.

Now the argument is, well, maybe my perceptions are inaccurate,
