Welcome to unlocking astrology, of course he's the keymaster, Samuel Reynolds, and he's taking a little journey with me over to the space called narrative.

I always talk about creating the world that we want to live in and narrative is the place that I want to be with the people that I believe want all that is goodness that we're giving.

And so I just want to first of all say thank you. I'm looking forward to this five part series that you're doing on astrology and narrative is perfect because it's the largest African studies classroom in the world and you actually have African studies background and I wanted to ask you why is it important to talk about astrology through an Africana studies lens?

Because it's one of the oldest arts and sciences that definitely comes from the

contributions and work of African people and it's been immensely important not just

as a spiritual study and a tool for self-understanding for many people throughout the world, but also in terms of planning and strategizing and all these particular things whole empires have been governed and conditioned and understood through the lens of astrology and the people who statistically through various different polls who believe quote-unquote most in astrology are black people but the people who are not writing the books being instrumental in the design and implementation of astrology are not black people.

So this five-part series is an introduction to a larger class that you teach to attract more black people or more people of African descendants into this world of astrology so that they too can become teachers.

Yes, they can become teachers, practitioners, writers, you know, we don't have too many.

I mean, one of the most notable texts that we have black sun signs by

Thalma Balfour who is I believe an astrologer and writer but she's one of the

most notable ones.

I mean, there's Mecca Woods, who's more of a millennial

who's been writing about astrology and popular astrology,

but we need a variety of people, black men women you know who are writing these things so as people take this journey and please join us at narrative with a k because it's all about that knowledge, K is silent, because sh,

we don't need to let people know.

What people should walk away from or with is more understanding at a very basic level what constitutes astrology from understanding more about the like today what we're what will do cover as the planets but we've talked about the general idea of astrology, then we'll get into the planets, we'll talk about the signs, then the aspects, and then the houses.

And so in a class with me, it would be about synthesizing and learning to read a chart, but having an understanding beyond like I'm a Taurus, I'm a Scorpio, I'm a Leo, you know, that's kind of like the lobby level. So I just want to take people a little higher. And this is what we do. All right, so the class actually will kick off in September.
