these COVID times she's the CEO and founder of Langston League,

which is helping educators create

culturally responsive instructional material

for kids, for young people, for students,

pop culture, professional Workshops as well.

Yeah, no, listen, you know, since you've done that, there have been several other educators and scientists and other people using popular music to express things because quite frankly we learn through music which you know right schoolhouse rock you know every kid knows every

every lyric to every popular song so why not drop knowledge into that you know knows every there were all all of this all of these great empowering messages and as well as scientific

messages put into music this is not anything new this is who we are why are we doing

more of this, Erica?

I mean, this was happening prior to, you know, me even doing this work.

My dad brought me up on a lot of old school hip hop. And for instance, I just, there's this educator.

She once worked with Kip.

I don't remember exactly where I read the story, but she does math instruction and she wrapped math

instruction she's passed away since right but she does math instruction and
