This is Karen Hunter and Jose Antonio Vargas. I reached out to him because he was

tweeting during the largest part of the unrest on the heels of the killing of George Floyd and he was

saying some just amazing things some insightful things I said I want to talk to him I

think it's so important during this time to just talk to people who are not

from your community. He's a man that came here at the age of 12. Did not know he was

undocumented until he was 18. That story he shares with me is amazing. But who

he is today and how he sees the world and what informs him, it just brought my perspective

on a lot of things and it just reminded me why it's so important that we don't live in our bubbles that we don't

Hunker down and just hang out with people who are just like us who think like us who feel like us

But that we stretch ourselves a little bit and get out there

and start to connect and make those connections with people.
