This is Karen Hunter and welcome to the hub. Operation Cyclone. Have you ever heard of that? Operation Cyclone. That was the code

name for the CIA, United States CIA program to arm and finance the jihadis in Afghanistan from 1979 to 1989

for a 10 year period, a couple of presidents, 1979 through 1989, Operation Cyclone.

Prior to that time, military intervention

by the Russians.

Okay, so why am I talking about this right now?

Well, America seemingly is heading dangerously close to a war with Iran.

And the Middle East is going to be on fire, but I want to remind people that this is not a

fight against Islam. This is not a one-on-one fight with Iran. There's a lot of history here including those of us who remember America's

installation of a shock into Iran and what led up to that.

I need us, and this is the reason why I'm bringing up Operation Cyclones.

I need us to be geopolitically more astute.

I need us to read more.

I need us to follow breadcrumbs. I need us to not start a story in the middle or towards the end.

I need us to kind of pull a thread and find out how do we get here. What has been the relationship

between America and Iran? What has been the relationship between America and Iran? What has been the insertion of Russia

into all of these things? I know that a lot of Americans right now to think erroneously

believe that Russia is an ally,

primarily because the current president of the United States,

Donald Trump, appears to be a Russian operative.

It just doesn't make any sense his relationship to Russia.

But the reality is America and Russia has been at odds since since since since.
