Several years ago I came across this TED Talk by a man named Ron Finley. I never heard of him before.

I was preparing for my show and I used to take these deep dives into the internet, YouTube,

and this guy floored me. Actually, I fell in love. The way in which he talked about planting and farming and gardening and

our power around it, his activism. So I invited him on my show and coming up next is my first interview with him.

His name is Ron Finley. He's from LA. He fashions himself at Gorilla Gardner.

He's also definitely an activist in the area of gardening and

planting but it got me thinking about all of the things that we don't know and

all of the things we're not mindful of as it relates to the food that we eat.

I just finished watching as I mentioned a Morgan Spurlock documentary around chicken which I had already

gotten chicken out of my diet, so that was easy.

But the way in which we don't have any control,

the way in which there are cabals and whole

fiefdoms around our food and the sourcing of our food

and whether or not we can can even if you want to do

organic chicken you still got to go through these shenanigans and then they cut off

your money it's just really crazy but it's the same in farming and we have so many farmers

under the yoke of a system that is not looking out for them. And as folk who have

dirt and soil, I preach this all the time on these airwaves by yourself some land.

We just had some folk on from Alabama, Huntsville, and their real estate, they're in the real estate game.

Now they're on a reality show, but we spend a lot of time talking about the land that's available in Alabama.

Let's get this soil because it's important. I just recently read an article and I'm going to talk more about it.
