This is Karen Hunter and welcome to the hub. I recently had a conversation with a friend of mine who said that they have no one to talk to and

well I'm like you're talking to me.

Yeah I know but it's just one person.

And these thoughts that I have and the way

that I see the world and the way that I think about things

is very lonely.

And actually I was talking to somebody else recently who is

marching to their own beat and they also complained about being lonely and this

past weekend I went to a dinner to celebrate someone's birthday and they were surrounded by people who,

like I was there, I hadn't really hung out with this person in 15 years and all around the

table were people that weren't that might have been close but not you

know what I'm saying not that close and I was saying to myself what a sad existence

to be in a world where you feel like such a unicorn that you can't connect with people?

So you surround yourself with people that, you know, sing your praises or that, you know, blow smoke up your ass and tell you how great you are,

but you don't really have camaraderie, and you don't really have someone that can check you and get you out of your funk and also challenge you to be better.

And I think, you know, no matter what it is, all of us are individuals, right?

So everyone basically is marching to their own beat but many of us don't

embrace it so I want to just spend today since Sunday just kind of encouraging people

to be okay with marching to your own beat and to embrace it even if at times

it's lonely because it's going to be lonely because you're you're in this life

where we need people but at the same time you are actually living your own individual

journey and so that requires your thoughts may not be like anyone else is
