white people are conditioned not to notice and to just kind of accept as the norm and it's as natural as breathing when you are, when you're the one holding the societal power, right you you don't notice the things the ways that you are

oppressing you only notice the ways you're oppressed and so I think that white folks we are

ingrained with the sense of blindness from birth really and so it took me a long time to notice that obviously because as a white person, you know, being conditioned in this way, it doesn't, it's not made apparent until you kind of get smacked upside the head once or twice and sometimes it takes maybe a dozen, a dozen, and

it's not just once or twice, but I was very lucky to get smacked upside the head pretty early.
