This past week, the OCR hybrid and endurance community received news that we had lost Rylan

Shotig. Now, we have had Rylan on this show, actually twice. You only received one of the episodes

because the other time in classic Rylen form, he was out in some remote area of the woods

and the reception was so bad we couldn't bring

the episode to light.

But Rylan was one of the more unique individuals we've met and he had a unique energy

and view on life and a way of approaching life.

And so in our opinion, the best thing that we can do is just keep that going.

So we are re-airing our Rylan interview right now.

This is from episode 69, so nearly 500 episodes ago.

He was young and he was just breaking through in the OCR world after already having extreme success in other venues.

So you just had this raw, youthful energy and it comes through in everything he did.

So that's what we're going to do for this episode.

And this feels like the best way to keep Rylan present.

Yeah.

Very, very tough news, I think for many. I think Rylan did a really good

job of going out of his way to positively reinforce people. You don't know this Bracken, but he was

very often in my messages, tell me how speedy i was or good job on this for no reason i

wasn't asking for feedback he would just chime in once in a while um and for those of you

most of you listening know but i know some of the running community doesn't he was rylan um

was a phenomenal mountain biker and ended up finding the OCR and then eventual hybrid scene

a few years ago.
