Hello again, everybody, and welcome to the Mike Francesa podcast along the BetRivers Network.

It has been anticipated really from the day it was announced.

The idea of bringing the Ryder Cup here to the new york metropolitan area bringing it to long

island okay bringing it to the famed horrors of beth page black and now it is finally here uh i i mean

really the countdown you've been thinking about this if you're a golf fan for a very long time.

First of all, there are a few events more exciting than the Ryder Cup.

It is a very, very exciting event by its own, just by its own characteristics.

It's only three days.

It happens every two years uh there is great

great pressures on the players it means a lot to them to perform well it means a lot to perform for your

country even though some of that has been chipped away, which I'll get to

in a minute. But there's a lot of animosity between the two sides. They get on each other.

It's one of its rare times that golf takes on a characteristic of the other sports in that the

fans can get very rowdy. They intimidate

the other team. It's a very, very tough event for the visiting team to win this time,

the Europeans. And now we are just a couple of days. It begins on Friday. Hopefully the weather

cooperates. We've had such great weather this fall or this early,

you know, late summer, early fall. And it looks like we're going to get some heavy rain Thursday,

maybe a little rain into Friday when the matches will begin. And then it looks like it'll

clear pretty well for Saturday and Sunday and be warm and sunny.

So hopefully that's the case when we get some good weather because it would really stink because
