We start today's show in Ukraine where

soldiers took a big gamble when they launched a surprise incursion into Russia's

cursed region last month. The plan was to force Russia to divert troops from Ukraine in order to defend their own territory.

That did not happen. Russian troops actually pushed deeper into eastern Ukraine,

and now they're at the doorstep of key logistics and transit hubs, including the town of

Pocrovsk.

Ukrainian journalist Valodemir Solohub has been visiting towns on the front line in recent days,

speaking with soldiers and civilians. We caught up with him on his way back to Kieve.
