An Israeli strike in the Gaza Strip overnight killed at least 19 people according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

This was in a coastal area called al-Mawasi, designated by Israel as a humanitarian safe zone. The Israeli military said this strike targeted

a number of senior Hamas commanders. Meanwhile Israeli officials do not all agree on the need

to continue fighting in Gaza. The world's Matthew Bell starts us off with the

latest. In addition to 19 people killed, Palestinian officials say dozens were injured

in the strike last night at a tent encampment called al-Mawasi near the city of

Khan Yunus. A video from the Associated Press showed three large craters at the scene this morning. Samar Moamir, a young Palestinian mother told the AP that an explosion woke her up in the middle of the night.

Her toddler was pulled out of the rubble alive,

but she says her older daughter was killed.
