The race is on, and the champagne for Lewis Hamilton's much anticipated record equalling 91st Grand Prix victory had to be put on ice at Sochi, thanks to a double whammy of five second penalties that didn't go down well at all, either with driver or the Mercedes

team. But would he have won without that despite starting all the soft tyres? I'm Ed's draw and

joining me to answer that question and many more, Scott Mitchell and hopefully Mark Hughes.

Now Scott, hello, I should say I said hopefully Mark Hughes at the intro because there's been a little

bit of an internet disaster in his vicinity.

So he's making a B-line functioning internet and so hopefully we'll be joining us very shortly.

Listeners of a past podcast in my life might remember a time where I was a bit down after

a race and that wasn't particularly well received, so I will endeavour to be more perky.

You might say that Mark's guilty of an out-of-position

start, although obviously for the real thing rather than a practice. You see, it sounds like

you've been concocting that for some hours, but it's only been in the past few minutes we've

been aware of this problem for Mark, who was actually connected to us and then went through

the slow broadband connection pain. He's on dial-up,

isn't he? Very probably, very probably in where he is. I had a similar problem with Christian Horner

earlier today, so it's evidently that sort of day for it. Well, we shall say hello to Mark when he

turns up, which we're hoping won't be too long, but we can get on, Scott, with what happened before the race.

As everyone knows, Lewis Hamilton was hit with a pair of five-second penalty for what might

be termed illegal practice starts and related activity.

As ever, this is F1, so there's endless layers of complexity.
