Today we're going to check in with an old friend who's been pretty busy over the past several months since the last time we spoke. Let's see what he's up to.

Today I want to welcome back our good friend, Adam Salinger. Welcome back. Thanks. It's great to be back, Martin. I always enjoy listening to your podcast and it's fun to be here again.

And Anna, before we get started, rather than me, because I feel like I've done this enough times,

rather than me, explain it what it is, Alan Salinger does you. Tell us about your business,

what you're doing. Well, I have a business called Alpine Venture Coaching, and it has, I started about a little

over a year ago, and it's kind of morphed into more one-on-one coaching from everything,

from helping clients pick out the right gear, the right trails,

all the way to working with clients to develop daily itineraries for scheduled hikes.

I worked with a client last year to put on paper an entire John Muir Trail

hike from the bottom up, from gear and food, all the way to resupply and all the way to the actual

trip and throughout the trip. I'm doing the same thing for another gentleman on the Colorado Trail,

and that's kind of what I'm enjoying the most right now

is working one-on-one with people and helping them to understand the importance of selection and

safety in the backcountry to help those clients find their success on whatever kind of trail they're looking they're looking

to hike so that's what i'll find adventure coaching's all about and and when i'm not doing that i'm

an educator i'm a i'm a backpacker and i'm a i'm a runner so that's that's that's me yeah adam i just

after the last episode i listened back back and said, I really didn't

do you any justice with the introduction.

That's why this time I thought, let's hear in your words, because I think the service you

provide is incredible, and especially for those people who maybe have done some backpacking,

but are a little apprehensive about taking that first step to doing that that big

trip so to speak you know taking on something like the john murr trail or the colorado trail
