| 0:00.0 | Hey, what's going on guys? Welcome back to the German Sky Fitness podcast for your show coming to you hot on this Sunday morning. |
| 0:06.8 | On a podcast request, I have probably gotten no less than at least 300 times over the past probably three to six months. |
| 0:15.0 | And I didn't really know like a perfect time to kind of sit down and do this because I do not have this scripted out. |
| 0:20.8 | It would take me, I will do a blog on it later, probably just a quick checklist because I could honestly write like my version of a book. I'm sure it's been done, you know, 10,000 times already. But the requests I get is, you know, Jeremy, hey, I love fitness. I love working out. I love training. I want to start my own service business, whether it be, you know, group training, personal training, online coaching. And a lot of people who just message me and say, hey, I want to start my own business. Now whether they're, you know, selling, you know, lawn care stuff, whether they want to do interior design, whether they want to be, you know, their own realtor, whatever it is, the question is basically this is going to surround is, you know, how do I start, how I run my own business, how did you do it? I'll talk specifically on the fitness side of it because that's the first business that I ever started and opened up. We've branched off to do many things around, obviously, the health and fitness industry, whether it be, you know, writing, coaching, speaking, and those kinds of things. But this is off the cuff, you guys. There's nothing really written |
| 1:15.8 | down. So if I repeat some things from previous podcasts, I apologize. I don't know who has |
| 1:20.6 | listened to all the, I think we have like 75 episodes now. But I'll share my story a little |
| 1:27.0 | bit how I started and how I did this, which is probably |
| 1:30.7 | not what I would recommend for you guys to do. Some of the resources that I had, how the things |
| 1:35.5 | kind of pieced together. And then, you know, things I've learned along the way over the past, |
| 1:40.1 | you know, a decade plus almost at this point. So without further ado, this is, you know, |
| 1:45.9 | my take on how to, you know, start and run a biz and just my experience with it. I'll start |
| 1:51.3 | this off by saying, you know, I'm not some, you know, genius expert on anything. I learned most |
| 1:58.3 | of this through trial and error and early on for sure. And then obviously |
| 2:02.6 | being surrounded by really smart, successful, like-minded, driven people who have pushed me to |
| 2:08.0 | levels that I didn't think were probably possible. And I'm assuming they think the same thing of me |
| 2:14.5 | because I just, I'm wired a certain way. So, long story short, |
| 2:19.3 | like you guys know, I went to college, like most people, you know, we all have a plan. |
| 2:23.2 | And that plan usually goes to shit pretty fast. And I kind of bounced around briefly after, |
| 2:29.7 | you know, graduating college. I didn't really know where I was going, what I wanted to do. |
| 2:32.9 | You add in that, you know, the economy completely fucking melting down for you. You guys were under the age of 30. You don't really know that yet, but the world kind of went to shit in a really short span. And a lot of people lost a lot of money, a lot of jobs, and people were struggling. And that was kind of in that mix of things. Mix on top of that. I had some some serious |
| 2:51.7 | health issues that really put me at my, you know, quote unquote rock bottom. I had, you know, no self-confidence left. I didn't feel good physically. I didn't know where I was going and I didn't know what was possible for my life. I literally felt like almost fucking hopeless. And it's, It's like you're in this own, you know, it's like everything. |
| 2:49.3 | The walls we build up, you know, to protect us. |
