Now, a recent study released the best city in the UK for beginner runners.

Cambridge has hit the top spot.

Apparently there are 113 running routes, of which 24 are listed easy.

Oxford came second, thanks to its paved paths,

and abundance of running routes and calm weather.

And if it's a 5K, you're reportedly training for Southampton's the place to go.

As for anywhere for expert runners, Gloucester and Edinburgh, that's where you need to be headed,

as long as you like, hill sprints and maybe the need for a waterproof jacket.

Unbelievably, Gail Redman, who's a GP and regular runner, was supposed to run the New York

Marathon, but after months of training and just four days before the event she had to cancel.

You see, Gail had stoma surgery in 2021 and has to carry specific supplies as well as extra hydration, although running

backpacks and hydration packs with platters have been banned at the New York Marathon since

the devastating Boston Marathon bombings back in 2013. Running the New York Marathon had been

Gail's goal for so long and she was planning to do it with her husband.

And after contacting the marathon, organizers told her the rules are the rules.
