Today's talk comes from Pastor Ben Stewart

and it's part of a new series about Jonah. Well, several years ago a guy by the name of Steve Callahan, after a terrible boating accident was lost at sea by himself in a little rubber life raft for 76 days.

Two and a half months alone in a little raft somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean.

And so he started starving to death, became emaciated, got dazed, disoriented.

And yet in the middle of all that, he had the sense to take three pencils

and lash them together and create a sextant, which is a nautical tool you can use to get your bearings

by measuring the distance between the sun and the horizon.

And so it was based on his understanding of these fixed realities in the universe.

He was able to discern what latitudinal line he was on on the globe.

And then he paddled into the right current and floated safely into the

Caribbean and had a nice vacation because it's lovely there right and he wrote a

best-selling book and he's doing fine right Now why tell you that story?

For this reason, it was his understanding

of fixed realities about the universe

that helped him navigate the uncertain waters of his life well.

And you go, why bring that up?

Because this morning, I want to show you
