Summary

Galatians 3: 12-22 - Is the law then contrary to the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law had been given that could give life, then righteousness would indeed be by the law. 22 But the Scripture imprisoned everything under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

0:15.0	It's time for you and for me to get our minds aligned with the truth of God.
0:19.6	We have been looking at Galatians Chapter 3
0:22.4	and it's Paul's contention that we live lives
0:26.8	that please God through faith not through obeying a bunch of rules. That's really what he's on about in the book of Galatians, the entire
0:35.1	book, because the people who were receiving this letter from him originally were being tempted
0:41.4	to think by various teachings that were coming into their group
0:45.5	that they needed to do certain specific requirements of the law
0:50.6	to please God and to be acceptable to him as believers in Jesus Christ.
0:56.3	And Paul is making the argument that is not the case.
0:59.6	The law is not only irrelevant for the way that we come to faith in God, but is also in many respects
1:07.7	irrelevant to the way we live by faith in God.
1:12.0	You see, Paul's point is that the same way that we come to
1:16.9	relationship with God through faith is the same way we live out our
1:21.4	relationship with God through faith.
1:25.0	And having made that point, he's answering some hypothetical questions
1:29.8	that might come up.
1:30.5	They're not really that hypothetical.
1:32.0	They're things people really would think.
1:34.1	In verse 21, he says, is the law then contrary to the promises of God?
