| 0:00.0 | Hello and welcome to the Diz Unpluged Roundtable discussion for December 19th, 2006. I'm your host Pete Warner, and we are joined this week by our Orlando team, including Bob Varley, Julie Martin, Cory Martin, Kevin |
| 0:29.9 | and John Maygay. This week we'll tell you about the most popular news stories on the Diz right now. We'll also talk about the Shore Excursions, just announced for the Disney Mediterranean Cruises next year, and we'll tell you what you can expect from the theme parks on Christmas Day. All that on this are last show of 2006 on the Diz Unpluged Roundtable. |
| 0:48.9 | Now, before we get started with the news, I just want to mention everyone, like I said, if this is going to be our last show for 2006, we're taking next week off, and our next show will actually be January 1st, which is a Monday, and the only reason we're going to do it on January 1st is because that will coincide with the start of the Dream's Video Trivia Challenge. |
| 1:09.8 | Oh, I can't wait for that. So now I'm sure you can't pop, but so we'll be, yeah, we'll be, so we won't be back until January 1st after this, after this show. |
| 1:23.8 | It sounds like a long time away, but it's really nice. It really isn't, it really isn't, it's just two weeks. |
| 1:28.8 | And it's not like we have vacation for two weeks, it's not like we're going on a January 1st, I hope not hungry. |
| 1:34.8 | But I accept full responsibility for there being no show next week because I haven't even started my Christmas shopping yet. So I just need to get that squared away. Me too. |
| 1:44.8 | Bob too. Bob didn't do his Christmas shopping yet either. People who like to wait till the last minute. I've always been one of those people who's out on Christmas Eve buying stuff. |
| 1:53.8 | But all right, let's get ahead and get started with the news. Number three story this week. Disney has asked Santa to leave the park. |
| 2:01.8 | Well, not exactly a 60 year old Tampa man was asked to leave the Magic Kingdom. If the throngs of children mistook him for Santa Claus. |
| 2:08.8 | The man does bear striking natural resemblance to St. Nick, replete with long white beard, rosy red cheeks and a belly to match. |
| 2:16.8 | But when the children asked him if he was Santa Claus, he made the mistake of saying yes, and that's when Disney stepped in and said, uh-uh. |
| 2:23.8 | Bad. As folks meant for Disney said that Santa is not a character legally approved by Disney management. And as such, they asked him to leave. |
| 2:30.8 | I swear that I saw him from Mickey's very marriage. I, you know, I am almost positive. I did too. |
| 2:35.8 | We had pictures where we were from the parade. Yeah. We had pictures of him. And I mean, the guy, I mean, the guy really does look like Santa Claus. |
| 2:44.8 | Yeah. But the story is that they're portraying. They're making it sound like they snatched him out of a crowd because he looked like Santa Claus. |
| 2:50.8 | No, they're not telling you is that he was actually portraying himself. |
| 2:54.8 | Yeah. Well, that's what I, that's what I said was that he was claiming to be. There wasn't wearing jeans or shorts. He was wearing what Santa would wear. |
| 3:00.8 | Yeah. Oh, yeah. He had like the red shirt on. He had suspenders on. Oh, yeah. Disney did ask him to leave because he was, he was telling him that he was Santa Claus. |
| 3:10.8 | I get, I, I have to say that, that makes sense. They can't have people coming in saying their, their characters and. |
| 3:17.8 | We went to a special event one night. It's special characters that, you know, it comes sit on my lap, you know. |
| 3:22.8 | We went to a special Halloween party at Disney one night. Mickey's not so scary Halloween party. And people came dressed up as Star Wars characters. Right. |
