Hiding a secret he skulks through the swamps, hungry and confused.

Knowing early in the night that his secret needed to stay hidden, he slips deeper into the bayou.

As the moon rose high into the night sky, fangs began to emerge from his gums, and his fingernails began to grow painfully, forming long, sharp claws.

The hunger in his belly began to grow too, also painful, gnawing at his insides, begging to be fed.

As his sense of smell sharpened, his memories of who he was and why he was here began to dull

until they faded completely.

The moon was fallen at its peak when he was drawn by the sounds, the smells, and the hunger,

to a place that was familiar, to a place that he, for the moment, had forgotten, was his home.
