All right, welcome everybody to a brand new episode of Brad and Mirror for the Culture.

I'm Brad Listy, and I'm here with my friend and co-host, Mira Gonzalez, who is making her triumphant return

after a couple of weeks off.

That's right.

I'm back.

I'm back, bitches.

I lived.

So you've been going through rough stuff.

Like, we have to acknowledge the fact that you lost your grandma.

This is supposed to be a light show, but I don't know

what to say. I don't know. It's tough. I mean, like, what I can say is that my grandma was

very successful, very funny. She did, I'll just take this moment to talk about all my grandma's

achievements. She made the costumes for the movie Carrie with the famous pig blood scene. She was nominated for an Academy Award for the costumes for Toronto. She did the costumes for Phantom of the Paradise. She had the costumes for airplane. She had the costumes for Casper. She had the costumes for the Flintstones. She did the costumes for Robocop. So she's got a really long storied career. Um, I'm beginning my campaign to get her in the N-memorium in the Oscars. And I will, I will protest outside the Oscars with a one-woman sign if I have to. Wait, wait, wait. How does that, how does that work? Are you really campaigning? Do you have to, like, lobby? Yeah. So, like, the way it works, basically, is that my grandma is a member of the costume designers guild and the screen actors guild, because that's just what, when you get a certain

amount of hours, that's what happens.

And so basically the, um, uh, costume designers guild that represents her, like the local,

I can't remember the number, uh, they submit her to their, like, Oscars representative, their SAG, like, I don't know,

Academy representative or whatever.

And literally the way that it works is that like, hopefully not a lot of costume

designers have died this year because it's like they need to have a certain number of like

directors, publicists, costume designers.
