With all the uncertainty and fears about the economy, I have for years found refuge in this Bible verse.

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.

For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river.

This isn't just blind hope. It's the recognition of God's power to supply us with all we need,

because when this understanding is planted in the river of his love, we become like that tree with deep secure roots.

This image symbolizes God's eternal supply flowing to each of us continually,

when we know Him to be the source of all good.

And with the fluctuating economy, it is imperative that we plant our roots in this always

reliable source, God, who is divine love. My husband and I learned about this as it pertained to

income when we were first married. We struggled financially just to pay our bills, but always came up short.

However, we attended services at our local Christian Science Church every Sunday and Wednesday,

no matter what. It was our top priority.

Little did we know that a great spiritualization of thought

was taking place. We were learning that we lived as God's divine expressions. We were spiritual

beings reflecting God. Therefore, we could not lack. No one could. This income of spiritual ideas was our true

source of supply, and as we embraced them, avenues for income began to open up until we were completely

out of debt. Years later, and now retired, we still reap the

benefits of this steady spiritual income. Seeking God first leads to abundant resources,

as Christ Jesus assured us when he said, seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,
