Welcome to the new year everybody.

2020 was what it was and as we embark on this new year I want to welcome you and thank you for how closely you've been listening

over the years. The first episode of this podcast was in January of 2014.

It's a long time to be having this conversation.

A long time to be having the conversation with you and with the people I get to talk to on the pod. I keep

being inspired by the guests on the podcast. I I keep getting to grow because of the things I learn from them and because of the things I

learn from them and because of the things I learn from you when you reach out to me, either on Twitter or via email.

And I wanted to start the year off with Ron Howard because to me, his approach to working together, to leading by always thinking about the project, not about his ego or what he wants, by always being

as kind as he can to everyone with whom he interacts. He's somebody who I look to as a beacon in a way of how to do things right in the film and television businesses and as a working artist

in a position of some responsibility.

I probably fall short of being as constantly and consistently sweet as Ron Howard is.

But for me, this is a great place to start the year.

I have some excellent podcasts coming up

that we recorded over the last couple of weeks,

including Rick Rubin, Doc Rivers.

And I can't wait to keep this conversation going for even longer.
