Sprint through it rushed through it. So let me begin by reading these verses

the title of this lesson is From Slavery to Slavery to Slavery. So, Roman 6, beginning in verse 20, the apostle Paul writes,

for when you were slaves of sin you were free in regard to righteousness. Therefore what benefit were you

then deriving from the things of which you are now ashamed for the outcome of those things is death. But now

having been freed from sin and enslaved to God you derive your benefit resulting in sanctification and the

outcome eternal life. The central thing that has been running through these verses is the theme of slavery.

The analogy, the metaphor that Paul is using to portray the Christian life is one of slavery.

And as we come to these verses,

what is unique about verses 20 to 22

is so crystal clear is that we actually go from one slavery to another slavery.

Before we were a Christian we we were slaves of sin.
