Welcome to Searchlight, a survey through Scripture with Pastor John Corson.

It is our desire to bring you a systematic study of the entire Bible, chapter by chapter, book by book.

Here on Searchlight, we are in the midst of one of the most glorious books in the Bible, the Book of Romans.

In this book, the Apostle Paul sets forth in a systematic and exciting way the major principles

and understanding of what it means to be a Christian.

In the first three chapters of Romans, Paul spent a good deal of time clearly and powerfully

explaining our need for a Savior.

Then he told of the wonderful salvation available through faith in Jesus Christ.

Today as we begin a verse by verse study of Romans chapter 4, we will see Paul continue to emphasize

this issue of faith.

With our study here now is Pastor John.

Now, Paul the Apostle had been sharing in Romans chapter 3 something which may have sounded really radical,

almost heretical, in the ears of those that were listening.
