It is our desire to bring you a systematic study of the entire Bible,

chapter by chapter, book by book.

On our last Searchlight program, we began to consider a couple of verses in Romans chapter 4 that talk about confession and forgiveness.

These verses are actually a quote from King David.

David was a man after God's own heart, but David was also a man who sinned.

And because David loved God so much, he became keenly aware of the power of confession

and forgiveness. Let's now join Pastor John for the continuation of our study and see what David

had to say about the power of forgiveness.

I always up to this time thought that David was just being a little bit redundant

when he said, Blessed is the man whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered,

just sort of saying the same thing two times over.

But there's something here that intrigues me that I want to share with you

this morning. It is not duplication or redundancy when he talks about transgression being forgiven

and sin being covered. You see, you've got to understand the word forgiven and covered. The word
