Welcome to Searchlight, a survey through Scripture with Pastor John Corson.

It is our desire to bring you a systematic study of the entire Bible, chapter by chapter, book by book.

Here on Searchlight, we are studying the very last chapter of the Book of Romans. Now, at first glance,

this chapter might not seem to contain anything of importance. It's mostly just a list of names

of people that the Apostle Paul is greeting. But this list of names tells us a lot. First, it tells

us that Paul was a friend maker, and that is a good thing for us to be

as well. This list also shows the diversity and importance of gifts in the body and how they are

used. Let's now join Pastor John for the continuation of our study and see what we can learn

from these friends of Paul.

He says then also greet Mary who bestowed much labor on us.

The word labor there is interesting.

Same word is used in Luke chapter 5, verse 5 in which it says, those fishermen, toiled all night,

labored all night, but caught nothing.

It's the idea of sweating.
