Chapter 13. It is interesting for most, but startling for many. For you see, in this section,

the Apostle Paul tells us that we are to be subject to all those in authority. Now, some would

say, but Paul doesn't understand what an idiot is in authority

over me. But when Paul wrote this, the ruler of the Roman Empire was Caesar Nero, a man who hated and

persecuted Christians. Yet, Paul said we are to be subject to the authorities.

Why?

Because Paul understood that all authority is given by God.

Let's now join Pastor John as we continue this teaching and gain understanding of this principle.

And so Paul here in talking about our role in society, he says, look, be subject to the higher powers.

There is no power but of God, the powers that are, they are ordained from God.
